World Environment Day 2020

World Environment Day 2020

World Environment Day is observed every year on 5 June. Its objective is to make people aware and conscious of the protection of the environment. Human life is not possible without nature. Therefore it becomes necessary that we understand how important trees, plants, forests, rivers, lakes, land, mountains are for us. The decision to celebrate the day was taken after discussion at the World Environment Conference organized by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972. This was followed by the first World Environment Day on 5 June 1974.

World Environment Day Theme

The theme of World Environment Day 2020 is 'Celebrate Biodiversity'. Through this theme, the message is being given this time that biodiversity conservation and natural balance are very important for the survival of human life. To maintain biodiversity, it is important for us to maintain the environment of our earth. The term 'biodiversity' is made up of two words - biological and diversity. Biodiversity in general refers to different species of fauna and flora. In nature, the world of human beings, other animals, and flora is connected to each other in such a way that the balance of everyone is disturbed by the disruption of anyone. This affects human life.

Take these 6 resolutions on Environment Day

The existence of entire humanity is dependent on nature. Therefore, without a healthy and safe environment, the imagination of human society is incomplete. Forest officer Arbind Verma said that in order to save nature, today we have to take some resolution together.
  1. Make sure to plant at least one plant in a year and save it and cooperate in the conservation of trees and plants.
  2. Do not pollute the pond, river, puddle, do not misuse the water and shut down after use
  3. Do not use electricity unnecessarily, keep bulbs, fans or other appliances off after use
  4. Throw garbage in the dustbin and motivate others, it will not cause pollution
  5. Stop using plastic/polythene, instead, use a bag or bag made of paper
  6. Be kind to animals and birds, use a bicycle for closer work
